paytech Achieves PCI DSS Level 1: Elevating Payment Security and Trust
Overview:
paytech is a next-generation payment technology company focused on delivering secure, scalable, and frictionless payment solutions for businesses worldwide. Our payment gateway powers thousands of merchants, and we are now expanding its capabilities with new, innovative functionality.
We are looking for a Payment Transaction Monitoring Specialist, who will be responsible for end-to-end monitoring and optimisation of payment activity for a designated portfolio of high-priority customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor end-to-end payment activity for an assigned portfolio of high-priority customer accounts;
- Analyse transactions at customer, user ID, card, BIN, issuer, country, device, currency, payment-method, and merchant-account level;
- Track successful, declined, pending, reversed, duplicated, refunded, and abandoned payment attempts;
- Investigate individual payment failures and identify the most likely root cause;
- Review issuer response codes, PSP and gateway errors, authentication results, routing history, and risk-related rejections;
- Identify recurring decline patterns, payment obstacles, technical issues, and changes in customer payment behaviour;
- Analyse payment performance by BIN, issuer, card type, card scheme, country, currency, authentication flow, and payment method;
- Distinguish between issuer declines, technical failures, routing issues, risk rejections, and customer-side problems;
- Optimise routing logic based on transaction history, BIN, issuer, geography, currency, card type, amount, and previous payment outcomes;
- Configure or coordinate changes to payment cascades and routing rules based on actual transaction performance;
- Monitor merchant account and PSP performance and identify opportunities to improve approval and conversion rates;
- Maintain clear records of payment issues, investigations, actions taken, and outcomes;
- Prioritise payment-critical cases and follow unresolved issues through to resolution;
- Collaborate with internal teams, PSPs, acquirers, and other payment partners when investigation or configuration changes are required.
Requirements:
- Experience in payments, PSPs, acquiring, payment gateways, or transaction monitoring;
- Strong understanding of payment lifecycles, declines, issuer responses, routing, and 3DS;
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills;
- Ability to work with transaction-level data and identify payment patterns;
- Good English and strong cross-functional communication skills.
